Olympia Steel Buildings metal building roof system is a PBR, "Purlin Bearing Rib" roof system which provides a full overlap of the roof panels. This full overlap prevents water from pushing beneath the roof panels and leaking into the building during storms when strong winds force rain against the panel overlap. In an Olympia metal building, where the roof sheeting overlaps the panel runs all the way to the bottom of the corrugation and along the bottom like a reversed “L.” The top PBR panel resembles a “Z” and overlaps the bottom panel providing additional strength as well as protection against leakage.
Some of Olympia's steel buildings competitors use only an “R” panel system. In "R" roof panels the panel overlap only extends 1/3 of the way into the corrugation of the connecting sheet. This minimal overlap of some metal building competitors is not sufficient to give strength to the joint and can allow water to build up in the corrugation where the metal roof panels overlap. Strong winds can then push this built up water through the overlaps and into the metal building causing tremendous leaks.
With an Olympia steel building you never need worry about water coming into your building during storms because Olympia's metal building roof panels give the protection and strength of a full panel overlap.
